Our team
A family business, built on care
Young Foods is run by Kumyoung Choi and Sungmin Lim — the husband-and-wife team behind Sunshine Coast sushi restaurant Sushi Ari.
The people behind Young Foods
After years of feeding their community through food, Kumyoung and Sungmin built Young Foods to bring the same care to foodservice kitchens. They moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2014 and immediately knew it would be home for the rest of their lives.

Kumyoung Choi (Young)
Founder
Settled on the Sunshine Coast and founded Sushi Ari, bringing a deep love of food and community to everything Young Foods makes. She's also an active public voice, appearing a few times a year on current-affairs programmes about Korean and inter-Korean society and culture.

Sungmin Lim (Sam)
Director
A finance and accounting background, running the business behind the scenes. A weekly regular at his favourite Mooloolaba Thai restaurant, and weekends with family and friends.
Young Foods is more than two people — a dedicated team makes it happen every day, and we'll introduce more of them here soon.

Our community
Proud to call the Sunshine Coast home
Just north of Brisbane, Mooloolaba and the Sunshine Coast are a much-loved escape — a beautiful, easy-going stretch of coast where Australians come to slow down with family and friends. It's a peaceful place to live, and we feel lucky to have settled and built our business here.
We're grateful to this community — and proud that running our facility creates local jobs and gives back to the place we call home. In the end, that's the point of what we make: take the hard work out of more kitchens, so the people who run them get a little time back — maybe to spend it down at Mooloolaba beach.
